Day 2 in Paris and that means things are getting serious. Frenchly serious. And when Louis Vuitton is up next, Hold on your Chanels!. Kim Jones travelled to india looking for inspirations for LV SS 2015 collection and she definitively found it in clothes owned by Indian Maharajas. Maha-what? Well, from my exhaustive research -google- the word Maharaja means "Great King" envisioning a great powerful and turbaned man with tremendous but beautiful ornaments in his clothes as synonym of wealthy and royal status in India and Europe. No worries, my dear readers, this runway is not going to be filled with turbaned good-looking models. Unfortunately, there's nothing that last on the eyes of Fashion, and the new Maharajas brought with them more simple requests from different designers including Louis Vuitton in the twenties. Period.

This new collection shared same color pattern and sixties aura as seen by her collegue Nicolas Ghesquiere, who is the artistic director of LV women's collection. Earthy tones combined with navy blue and fucsia from organza and silk shirts to bomber jackets. A vast array of textures combined with great designs and minimal details that Miss Jones did not overlook. And I mean, she doesn't take her work for granted. Navy blue jackets and jumpsuits with little circular mirrors with the LV logo engraved on them and water-proof bags speak for themselves. A little too much, I must say BUT I cannot deny I love when designers are THIS committed with their pieces. Louis Vuitton as the Maharajas of India are synonym of Magnificence and Power.
